The Internal Audit Group (IAG) is a worldwide function with approximately 300 team members and offices in seven countries. IAG is comprised of assurance and risk professionals with diverse backgrounds including internal controls, consumer compliance, technology, operational risk, financial accounting, data analytics, and banking operations. The IAG organization consists of 14 audit teams aligned with the business units and staff groups along with a Professional Practices group that manages audit methodology, quality assurance, regulatory relations, and reporting.

The Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management and US Bank HQ Leader will lead a team of approximately 8-10 auditors evaluating compliance with ERM, ORM and US banking regulations/requirements. This Vice President is responsible for developing and executing the annual risk management and AENB HQ audit plan, aligning audit results with second line leadership, and leading risk management related interactions with the various regulatory bodies.

Required Qualifications:Deep understanding (8+ years of experience) of industry regulations and expectations in assessing/auditing Enterprise Risk Management, OCC Heightened Standards and Operational Risk for large financial institutions (i.e., G-SIB, Category III/II bank)Understanding of critical enterprise and operational risk management lifecycle activitiesExperience with Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), including BCBS 239Ability to clearly articulate risk insights to stakeholders and has good experience interacting with regulatorsFamiliarity with OCC HandbooksHas experience with leading teams with a focus on risk awarenessCoach, teach, mentor, and develop less experienced colleagues and co-sourced resources in geographically diverse locations across all aspects of their role, the audit lifecycle, audit methodology and best practices.Strong written and verbal communication skills that deliver high quality, actionable and value-added feedback to management on potential control issues and potential solutions to close gaps. -Task Management, Collaboration & Leadership - Effectively works independently, within a team and across teams in a fast-paced environment to drive results, using related project management skills, employing creative thinking, a focus on quality, and the ability to work on competing priorities. Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects and provide quality review across deliverables.Proven ability to lead team members in a way that inspires, develops, and delivers results.Ability to quickly resolve complex risk issuesAbility to adapt to evolving risk landscapesEffective utilization of risk management toolsDemonstrated skill to lead and oversee enterprise-wide modificationsProven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectivelyHigh-level understanding of risk mgmt. tools within a financial services environment (e.g., GRC tools)Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageousA qualified Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP)Experience with bank strategic planning Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $260,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
