Level V, Management Staff, Supervised by General ManagerResponsibilities:


MERCHANDISING Plan and design all sale and seasonal displays across multiple departments and throughout the store Coordinate large scale cross merchandising throughout the store using the NCG promotions calendar as a guideline Communicate sales plans thoroughly with Marketing through Google Drive and Promotions meetings Ensure all end-caps are planned and merchandised for all sales periods, and help facilitate the stocking and filling of said end-caps Coordinate special sales and promotions with reps, smaller distributors, small vendors, and local vendors through regular meetings Keep budget guidelines for merchandising fixtures Communicate directly with NCG and UNFI concerning action items Attend NCG meetings / conferences yearly as needed Guarantee that the above is happening at our other locations through effective communication and regular visitsCATEGORY MANAGEMENT Develop and implement margin and pricing strategies for Grocery categories Develop and implement a rotating schedule for category clean up and new item additions using SPINS, sales data, NCG programs, rep meetings, and natural foods trend following Ensure product selection is on trend and in demand for all categories Effectively communicate changes in product selection with Grocery Manager as well as take feedback from department employees about customer requests and responses to product selection Track sales, margins, and performance for all items in order to effectively control Grocery bottom line Guarantee that the above is happening at our other locations through effective communication and regular visitsCUSTOMER SERVICE Assist customers with product questions in a prompt, and courteous manner, referring them to other staff when necessary.

Work as part of a team to develop a hospitable department space that feels welcoming to all.
Knowledgeable about all products.
Help customers place special orders.
PERSONNEL Ensure clear communication to include expectations, accountability, and follow through for daily tasks are clear.

Be receptive and respond to the ongoing needs and concerns of your team Lead the training, coaching, and development of Produce team members.

Conduct performance evaluations on a timely basis.
Deliver disciplinary action as needed following established policy.
Schedule Produce team members for departmental needs.
Review and approve timesheets for accuracy, to include the use of benefit time according to our policies.
Follow up as needed.

Manage a positive culture where employees feel their contributions are valuedDEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE See that unsaleable items are properly disposed of.

Ensure that work environments are clean, orderly, and meet health standards.
Remove trash promptly; sweep floor as needed.
Ensure maintenance of department equipment and notify manager if equipment breaks.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES Follow GreenStar's safety rules.
Assist other employees in safety needs.
Report unsafe equipment and conditions.
Participate in safety training programs, assist with accident investigation.
Perform other tasks as assigned to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
STOREWIDE AND OTHER DUTIES Attend Human Resources trainings, all-staff meetings, department meetings, and OBM Huddles to stay informed.
Read GreenStar publications to stay informed.
Respect and comply with storewide personnel policies.
Describe membership benefits, and how membership investment is made.
Adhere to scheduled shifts.
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Communication - effective interpersonal communication with staff and vendors.
Experience negotiating with vendors.
Experience with retail categories and merchandising.
Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments.
Open to input/feedback on work performance.
Open to giving input/feedback on GreenStar.
Self-Driven/Motivated throughout shift.
Knowledge or interest in learning about natural foods, produce, local vendors.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands, stay calm, and prioritize.
Ability to lift 50 pounds
