The Merchandising Manager will play a pivotal role in achieving planned store inventory levels and maintaining merchandise assortments to maximize profitability for Harry Winston. This individual will be responsible for analysis, assortment planning, and managing inventory levels for Model Stock product across all pricing segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Train and manage the Model stock team to effectively liaise with salons and drive sales.
- Train the merchandising team, with a focus on the distribution analyst, to ensure accurate shipment of goods in accordance with Country/Customs requirements, shipping methods, invoicing, etc.
- Monitor stock levels and make appropriate callouts to the team regarding allocation, stock rebalance, etc. to maintain sufficient stock levels.
- Conduct sales analysis, including top sellers, salon ranking, replenishment priority, collection performance by region and globally, to determine allocation curves.
- Analyze and implement size curves.
- Work closely with Category Management and the Director to execute launch plans for new styles based on strategy, liaise with PR/Marketing/CM regarding press sets.
- Partner with the planning team to create MDS proposals for Salon Directors and Upper Management to review for implementation.
- Implement new systems, including new launches, salon openings, and re-openings, in partnership with IT, Finance, Logistics, and the planning team.
- Review and analyze assortment parameters for the global retail network, assess assortment effectiveness, and react to business opportunities.
- Assist the planning team in monitoring consistent model stock receipts, create and initiate stock rebalance and recall strategies, and make appropriate callouts/inquiries to the planning team to ensure timely receipt of top sellers.
- Support marketing campaigns and events by partnering with the Marketing/PR team to suggest assortments and provide ample inventory support.
- Conduct monthly business reviews with global markets, scheduling monthly/quarterly model stock business review calls with salon directors and local merchandising teams to evaluate and identify stock needs, missed opportunities, and local clientele callouts/feedback.
- Partner with the regional workshop team to evaluate and manage local SDE workload/Capacity.
- Manage memo assortment and review/approve all memo requests.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal cross-functional teams and salon teams worldwide.
- Collaborate with cross-functional managers to align merchandising strategies, ensuring uniformity across assortments and stock productivity is maximized in local markets.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and projects.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5-10 years of merchandising/planning experience
- Luxury jewelry experience highly desired
- Experience managing, developing, and coaching a team
- Strong teamwork and collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Proactive and takes the initiative to drive business and think outside of the box
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, remaining flexible with changing priorities
- Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability/flexibility, and initiative
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail/accuracy
- Strong business acumen and sense of organization, priority, and efficiency
