Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Position Summary:
The Fleet Technician is tasked with the comprehensive repair, upkeep, and servicing of a diverse range of small engine machinery, heavy-duty equipment, and vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute intermediate to advanced maintenance and repair tasks on small and large engine equipment.
- Provide welding services as required.
- Overhaul, repair, and reassemble various components including engines, transmissions, clutches, and brakes.
- Interpret manufacturer manuals and service specifications to effectively complete maintenance tasks.
- Respond to emergency roadside service calls and coordinate necessary towing services.
- Diagnose and repair large equipment, including diesel vehicles, tractors, and heavy construction machinery.
- Ensure all repairs meet stringent safety and quality standards.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on all company machinery.
- Monitor equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Document maintenance reports, work orders, and other essential paperwork.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring proper care of all company equipment.
- Encourage ongoing improvements in workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in repair and maintenance.
- Preferred experience in maintenance welding.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficient in quickly disassembling and reassembling various types of equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in diagnosing issues.
Work Environment:
- Work is conducted in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Extended hours may be required during peak operational periods.
- Position involves substantial physical activity and exposure to varying weather conditions, noise levels, and potential hazards.
