ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Systems Architect functions as a key technical resource within the IT team, overseeing complex projects that require specialized technical expertise. This role involves making well-informed decisions, collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, and ensuring successful implementation of system improvements to enhance efficiency. Responsibilities include planning, installing, maintaining, and optimizing servers (Windows and Linux), software, and related components to ensure optimal performance for various business applications while minimizing downtime. Additionally, the Systems Architect manages the Microsoft Exchange environment, VMware Infrastructure, backup systems, and collaborates with compliance teams to uphold security standards and enhance overall system protection.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide expert technical guidance and consultation to senior management and project teams
  • Ensure compliance with standards and best practices
  • Stay updated on security trends and technologies to maintain system security
  • Design, implement, and monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions
  • Collaborate with PCI compliance team and assist in maintaining PCI standards
  • Lead critical technology administration including backups, VMware, storage, and email systems
  • Participate in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing
  • Consult with stakeholders to assess computing needs
  • Recommend enhancements based on storage performance analysis
  • Lead network connectivity design for cloud services
  • Implement and document system hardware and software changes
  • Drive continuous improvement of server infrastructure
  • Manage operating system and application maintenance
  • Support Windows Domain Servers and network hardware
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and resolve issues proactively
  • Respond to customer requests and enhance customer experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of ten years of related experience
  • Proven expertise in systems and network design and development
  • Strong knowledge of security standards, network protocols, and diagnostic utilities
  • Experience with various devices and platforms including Cisco ASA Firewall, Microsoft Exchange, VMware, and more
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server management, Active Directory, and SQL administration
  • Scripting skills for custom tools and reports
  • Project management experience and exceptional communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and prioritize effectively
