Position Title: Quality Manager

Department: Quality

Reports To: General Manager

MAJOR DUTIES:

The Quality Manager is responsible for the quality management of ATS & associated suppliers in accordance with regulatory requirements and will coordinate and oversee quality and safety related objectives and programs at ATS Ohio.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality:

• Strictly follow ISO9001 & CSA N299/N286/N285/ASME NQA-1 Quality requirements as defined within the Quality manual and procedures.

• Collaborate with senior management to establish key performance scorecards, measurements, targets and key quality initiatives, as well as define and measure progress on process improvement opportunities.

• Advises the Project Manager and General Manager relative to quality assurance requirements, project performance and any quality issues. Issues stop work orders when necessary.

• Identifies opportunities and implements the quality assurance and improvements in production processes and recommends solutions for the project.

• Interfaces directly with the customer's Quality Assurance management and other relevant personnel and facilitate improvement plans as appropriate.

• Manage direct reports, complete performance reviews and take appropriate action with employees and establish training plans.

• Manage and oversee teams performing supplier certification, QMS, process, and product audits.

• Develop and facilitate Supplier Quality Improvement Plans as appropriate.

• Assist the Sales and Applications Engineering departments with reviewing customer requests for proposals and identifying product measurement and test requirements and compliance issues that should be addressed in the quote.

• Ensure customer data/records/procedures are provided in a timely manner in accordance with contract requirements.

• Maintain and continuously improve the ATS Ohio Quality System, in accordance with the ISO 9001, ASME NQA-1 Quality Standard.

• Assist the Quality Steering Committee and General Manager in the development and implementation of measures and reports used to monitor quality performance and improvement, associated with meeting internal and external customer requirements.

• Identify opportunities for productivity and quality improvements in production processes and recommend solutions.

• Maintain good relationships with all functional groups at ATS Ohio by participating in functional and multi-functional teams.

General:

• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.

• Travel may be required.

• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:


• A post-secondary technology diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical engineering, mechanical technologist, quality engineering or equivalent work experience is required.

• ASQ CQE or ASQ SSBB (or working towards)

• Nuclear Auditor training and qualification is a plus

EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS:


• At least 5-10 years in nuclear environment or other highly regulatory industry

• At least 5-10 years of quality assurance engineering experience in a manufacturing and/or fabrication environment.

• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience leading a Quality team.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects from various diverse organizations

• Strong working knowledge and experience working with ISO 9001, N299.1, 10CFR50, 10CFR21, N285, N286, B51 and ASME Section III guidelines.

• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

• Strong problem-solving ability.

• Strong leadership, communication and documentation skills.

• Strong data analysis skills

• Training on the current ATS Quality and Safety Systems will be conducted, but previous experience in an ISO 9000 based quality system is preferred.

• Must have the ability to work with and communicate effectively at all levels within the company, with customers and suppliers, and outside regulatory agencies.
