Ford Advanced EV is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities – such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling – to create ground-up breakthrough electric vehicles. Being on the Ford Advanced EV team means building the future as Ford's center of innovation and growth through electric and connected vehicles and services.

Your lines of code will make our future more connected and intelligent. As a Software Engineer, you will develop and optimize tools that support firmware and hardware development. You will write scripts and utilities, primarily in Python, that generate C code, interact with embedded systems, and streamline development processes.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2-5 years of experience as a Firmware Engineer or Software Engineer
Proficiency in Python and C/C++
Understanding of embedded systems concepts
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience with JIRA/Confluence or a similar system for tracking inputs/results
Preferred Requirements :

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with web frameworks, especially React or Svelte.
Experience with code generation (e.g. Jinja)
Understanding of automotive electronics.

What you'll be able to do:

Develop, test, and maintain tools and scripts for firmware and hardware development.
Write and optimize Python scripts that generate C code and interact with embedded systems.
Collaborate with firmware and hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of tools with development processes.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Troubleshoot and debug tools and scripts in a timely manner.
Document tool designs and development processes
