The Nurse Administrative Coordinator provides Leadership in the application of the nursing process to client care, organizational processes and/or systems, improving outcomes at the program or service level.

Provides leadership in identifying and addressing ethical issues and reports these issues to nurse managers/ACNS/Nurse Executive. The incumbent manages program resources (financial, human, material and informational) to facilitate safe, effective and efficient care.

The Nursing Admin Coordinator is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced-based nursing standards of practice.

In collaboration with the Nurse Managers, creates a positive work environment which enhances care delivery and professional development of clinically competent staff.

The NAC promotes, creates, demonstrates and ensures a culturally diverse workforce in which the values and needs of all individuals are respected.

The incumbent demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise, leadership, and creative approaches to management of complex care.

In addition, applies skills necessary to identify, coordinate, and/or identify discipline-specific education, as well as training in leadership, professional staff developmental and emerging needs, to all levels of staff.

The nurse admin coordinator collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to arrange appropriate referrals to HBPC, VNA, community nursing homes and other appropriate agencies.

The NAC serves as a nursing resource for all disciplines and participates in system redesign reams at the service and organizational level.

This incumbent assures compliance to quality standards, such as JCAHO, etc. for assigned areas and service line areas.

The NAC assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for managing and directing employees, staffing units, and allocating resources as necessary during weekends, holidays, and after-hours tours during the absence of nursing management/leadership.

The NAC is responsible for rounding and is a consultant to providers.

Collaborates with the Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD) and other members of the interdisciplinary team as needed for decisions related to on-going patient care and actions taken in emergency situations and disasters.

The NAC provides programmatic outcomes to nursing leadership to assist with improving organizational processes and the delivery of patient care.


Pay:

Intermittent, but must be available weekends, holidays, evenings and nights
