Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 for the Dual Enrollment Program. This position provides administrative support to the Director of Dual Credit Initiatives, as well as, the office of Dual Credit Initiatives. This position will be responsible for working with Admission and Records to support dual credit student enrollment verifications and reconciliation. This position will also perform general administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, travel, event coordination, and managing memoranda of understanding between the Office of Dual Credit Initiatives and school districts across the state.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate with school districts and charter schools to manage end of semester grading tasks including, file transfer, communication with course coordinators, and communication with school district personnel.
  • Manage communication between University faculty and school district personnel regarding text books and material acquisition.
  • Collection of concurrent enrollment accreditation data and assisting with the NACEP accreditation.
  • Manage the website and complete updates under the direction of the Director of Dual Credit Initiatives.
  • Managing the calendar for the Office of Dual Credit Initiatives and scheduling meetings between departments and key stakeholders
PER EXECUTIVE ORDER

ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30TH, 2024. Please refer to the link for more information: Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

Required Qualifications
  • This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR
  • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and charts
  • Relevant bachelor's degree
  • 5 years related administrative experience
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 27 (Step 01 $19.94/hr. - Step 03 $21.64/hr.)

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.

Department Information

The Office of Dual Credit Initiatives (ODCI) manages both the Collegiate Academy program and provides oversight for dual enrollment students at the University. The Collegiate Academy is a statewide concurrent enrollment program with more than 4500 high school students taking University courses in their high school classrooms. The ODCI manages communications and relationships with school districts and charter schools statewide. We are currently working with 32 schools across the state.
