The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1967. It is a diverse community of more than 11,000 professionals united by one important mission—the development, management, and use of safe and effective health technology. AAMI is the primary source of consensus standards, both national and international, for the medical device industry, as well as practical information, support, and guidance for healthcare technology and sterilization. We are seeking a Creative Project Manager.

This position is responsible for the creative direction and production of marketing materials and communications at AAMI, supporting its mission and goals, driving revenue, and increasing brand awareness among members, customers, and key stakeholders. It involves both strategic thinking and hands-on daily execution of multiple creative marketing tasks. This position maintains AAMI's brand across all visual media, including digital marketing and communications, presentations, exhibiting collateral, and conference and event assets

Essential Duties (Responsibilities)

  • Work with the Managing Director of Marketing and Communications to design and lead the execution of targeted campaigns for AAMI events, resources, and general brand engagement.
  • Utilize paid search and social media strategies to amplify AAMI's brand presence.
  • Develop and maintain AAMI's brand guidelines in collaboration with leadership to ensure that AAMI staff and vendors can effectively represent AAMI.
  • Guide staff and vendors to correctly interpret brand guidelines.
  • Review all marketing content for clarity, accuracy, engagement, creativity, relevance, branding, and overall quality.
  • Enforce and strengthen branding policies.
  • Develop and maintain design files and imagery for use by AAMI staff as needed.
  • Develop visual assets for marketing or communication campaigns for products, training, events, and membership.
  • Collaborate with web and marketing teams to develop digital assets, such as the AAMI website, AAMI Array, BI&T, etc.
  • Develop visual assets for advertising, social media, and web marketing.
  • Design and manage the production of printed collateral, including postcards, brochures, and news compilations.
  • Develop concepts and final designs for the visual branding of conferences and events.
  • Develop and coordinate special AAMI marketing projects, marketing brochures, membership advertisements, and special publications.
  • Develop visually compelling presentations for keynotes and business development.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices regarding inclusive design and guide staff and vendors as needed.
  • Conduct research, data analysis, and other intelligence gathering to understand the marketplace, members, customers, channels, competitors, technologies, and industry standards.
  • Plan and manage logistics for the AAMI presence on the expo floor at all AAMI conferences.
  • Develop and track analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing techniques.
  • Provide support to various marketing projects, as needed (social media, web, and direct mail)
  • Perform other duties as assigned within areas of responsibility.
    • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, journalism, public relations, or related field
    • Three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience in design, brand, and marketing functions.
    • Proficiency in email marketing tools (HubSpot), Google Ads, content management platforms (WordPress), project management tools (Asana), social scheduling tools, and analytics tools (GA4)
    • Experience with Pardot or similar email marketing, marketing automation, and project management tools, such as Asana.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative suite.
    • Experience in digesting technical copy and developing an appropriate visual message that resonates with the target audience.
    • Experience developing compelling visuals and templates for email marketing, social media, and web advertisements.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in news writing, writing for the web, and social copy development
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance competing priorities
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
