Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies tailored to the unique needs of agricultural clients, including farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses.
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities within the agricultural sector.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, staying updated on changes that impact the agricultural industry.
  • Provide proactive tax advisory services to clients, offering insights and recommendations on tax-saving opportunities and financial planning.
  • Assist clients in understanding the tax implications of various business decisions, including acquisitions, expansions, and succession planning.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to address client inquiries and provide accurate and timely responses.
  • Identify and mitigate potential tax risks for clients, ensuring adherence to tax policies and best practices.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of work performed by team members and provide review comments and training.
  • Collaborate with other service lines and teammates to deliver integrated services to clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business operations and goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, anticipating client needs and delivering exceptional service.
  • Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and generate new business within the agricultural sector.
  • Stay informed about trends, challenges, and opportunities within the agricultural industry.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and professional organizations to enhance knowledge and network with peers.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a related field
  • CPA license preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Tax preparation and review of individual/business tax returns
  • Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and Firm standards.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients adhering to strict confidentiality.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively, multitask, and complete assignments within budget.
  • Ability to work independently but also collaborate, as a team, with owners and staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office programs, QuickBooks experience a plus.
  • Meticulous with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
