The purpose of this full-time administrative position is to enhance the health care delivery system for an increasing population of women Veterans across Veteran Health Administration.

The Boise VAMC WVPM supports the network and VHA mission under the guidance of the Women Veterans Strategic Health Care Group with ongoing collaboration with the Deputy Field Directors and Lead WVPM group.

The Nurse WVPM executes position responsibilities that demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches to the management of program aspects.

Duties include, but not limited to
:

Advocate on behalf of women Veterans across Veteran Health Administration
Improve care access and continuity
Integrate targeted initiatives for coordination of primary care, mental health and gender specific care through collaboration with facility leadership
Assess and actively facilitate for preventive care and health promotion
Promotes a safe and welcoming environment
Develops and conducts a minimal of three outreach activities for each fiscal year
Promote and develop education programs for women health providers and staff
Serves as a consultant for facility leadership across service lines
Assess compliance to women Veterans privacy policies
Enhance outreach and in reach activities within VA and non-VA communities
Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to impact the standard of care and safety of staff while caring for all patients throughout the continuum of care
Responsible for leading a facility wide program for all services within the organization that meets the requirements of National Directives
Oversee the provision of staff education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement consultation related to the program
Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others
Evaluates practice in an ongoing process, based on best evidence
Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement
Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals
Contributes professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team
Partners with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes
Shares educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers
Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care
Participates in activities and strategies to sustain an evidence-based-practice culture
Continuously evaluates the program, collecting and submitting facility performance measures.
