Overview:

The Idaho Division of Human Resources is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide essential nursing care within a long-term care environment. This role involves supporting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality services to our esteemed veterans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver practical nursing care and assist registered nurses or physicians in various clinical situations.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate residents' treatment, care, and progress.
  • Administer prescribed medications and observe for any adverse reactions.
  • Conduct treatments such as changing sterile dressings and catheterization.
  • Gather health information from residents and provide guidance on basic health needs.
  • Educate residents and their families on dietary needs, personal hygiene, and mobility techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of medications, symptoms, and any unusual occurrences.
  • Coordinate lab and imaging tests as directed by physicians.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing patient education, both individually and in groups.
  • Background in implementing a plan-of-care approach to patient management.
  • Experience in guiding and orienting other healthcare staff.

Clearance:

All candidates must successfully complete a criminal history background check post-offer.
