Job Description

Primary Function of Position

The Senior Production Planner is a critical position within our team. This role is responsible for serving as a liaison between all internal organizations to ensure that components and assembles flow smoothly through the work areas to meet stringent deadlines.

Work with various teams in Service, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality and Finance to fully understand Service demand and supply needs and balancing operational goals. Lead with strong communication skills and assist with project developments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Develop Planning KPIs and reporting on key business analytics to monitor/track inventory, distribution requirements for independent demand, backorder projections, etc. to reflect supply chain health of assigned products.
  • Develop and refine tools for on-going support of business. Take a lead role for business process and system enhancement SME coordination with supply chain and IT teams.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts with material availability, capacity availability and available to promise data integrity.
  • Illuminate impact to Supply continuity for Finished goods, represent PPC team in organizational SOE (Supply Execution performance)
  • Participate in SIOP activities, highlights capacity challenges, and engage in cross functional alignment with the various stake holders.
  • Ability to Forecast and prevent production issues. Resolve issues impacting shop productivity in collaboration with all required groups, i.e., shop leadership, production control operations (material flow), master scheduler, and to develop an action plan and lead implementation to facilitate quick recovery and to minimize impact on overall build performance.
  • Maintain master data maintenance and ensure master data information in ERP system, such as item attributes, planning, ordering/manufacturing lead times, are accurate and up to date. Optimize Part attributes for most effective planning mode for assigned product, ensure world class attribute accuracy and data/ERP integrity.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders of deployment projections, constraints, allocation decisions, etc.
  • Understanding of high complex Mutli-tier BOM System, complex traveler systems routing and customized Supply planning tools.
  • High level of MRP understanding, how attributes impact Planned order signals with stakeholders to ensure organizational alignments. (Supply chain, MFG, Engineering)
  • Apply analytics and supply chain expertise to manage system parameters and meet target inventory and service level goals while minimizing costs and obsolescence.
  • Deliver clear-to-build status, material coverage, Stockout- reports and other analyses as needed. Provide data-driven decision support to the broader organization through what-if and constraint scenario planning.
  • Manage business execution of new and/or upgrade Design, Engineering initiatives that may include last time buy needs, phase-outs and re-designs, new product launch (PPQ, APL).
  • High competence of working in advanced planning modules (o9 AP systems/Kinaxis), ability to drill down into demand streams/Dependent, Independent, build plan start/finish, supply plan, scenario planning views.
  • Participate and supporting Production planning activities in Organizational quarterly SIOP& Demand planning.
  • Track on-time MFG delivery performance and drive root cause and corrective action to improve overall production metrics. (Weekly management summary)
  • Ability to dive into tactical related work, learning business processes along with the various interacting software across the production floor (SAP, MES, Agile, 09)
  • Mentoring and developing planning staff members, helping group improve overall technical skill set and drive process improvements.
  • Lead and drive Optimizing for Production line sequencing of build, propose changes and optimal WIP and inventory targets for subs (Driven by data and consensus with Finance, Master scheduling)
  • Analyze Demand changes in order to assess the risk around the Demand Plan and the impact of the changes to the Supply Plan
