Primary Purpose of Job

Drive strategic growth by developing strategies that expand the membership base of our organization. The Membership Development Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering strong member relationships, executing targeted sales initiatives, and achieving ambitious membership acquisition goals.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build relationships and work with the employer community through HEC's mission to help employers build effective, engaged, and productive workplaces to maximize their impact, stay compliant and competitive, and create great workplaces for Hawaii.

Major Job Duties

Identify, build, and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate members.

Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our organization's offerings, tailoring presentations to showcase the value proposition for small, medium, and large employers.

Cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target companies.

Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling sales collateral and presentations that resonate with corporate clients.

Conduct thorough market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitive intelligence, and potential business opportunities.

Develop and implement effective sales strategies that generate leads, meet and exceed membership acquisition targets.

Develop and implement internal and external referral programs and partners.

Provide management with accurate and timely reports on sales performance, forecasting, and market intelligence.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new members.

Develop and maintain relationships with trade and professional organizations to generate leads and referrals.

Represent HEC at conferences, trade shows, association meetings, and other business networking events.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Five (5)+ years of experience and proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably in HR-related services or membership-based or service-oriented industry.

Results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales goals.

Demonstrated a history of successful sales within the Hawaii market.

Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally at various organizational levels, including business owners and senior executives

Strong understanding of the corporate and Hawaii business landscape.

Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and excellent time management skills.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Growth mindset. The ability to learn and stay informed on current labor and employment law, employee relations, trends in human resources management standards and practices, and matters that impact employers as well as the sales profession.

Service-oriented approach in communications and relations with staff, members, partners, and the public.

Working knowledge of business office software, preferably Microsoft Office and CRMs.

Other Requirements

Valid driver's license and auto

Periodic travel to the neighbor islands

We support a hybrid working environment. Responsibilities may require travel to member sites on all islands, including some overnight travel and/or extended hours as required to meet members' needs.
