SEH is seeking an experienced Economic Development Manager to lead the growth and expansion of our multi-state Community and Economic Development program, serving our Central Region states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Texas.

This Opportunity:
  • Lead a group of multi-disciplined SEH employees with strategic and innovative thinking, while establishing relationships with public and private SEH clients to ensure the successful delivery of community needs and long-term goals
  • Oversee research and analysis on economic development trends across multiple states and work with SEH clients to develop and implement strategies to secure public funding for a variety of infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with SEH operational leaders across service areas to provide a superior client experience that aligns with community goals
  • Meet regularly with clients while coaching and mentoring SEH service teams to provide high quality and valuable advice based on federal, state and local information that is accurate, current, and available to SEH
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government officials and State and Federal agencies to properly represent client interests and create a high level of mutual awareness and cooperation
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Economics, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in Municipal Grant Funding Writing and Administration
  • Demonstrated understanding of Federal and State(s) Funding/Agencies processes and requirements
  • Thorough knowledge and working understanding of housing issues and funding sources, and programs addressing public infrastructure needs
  • Experience providing economic develop assessment services, especially in the area of credit analysis and development financing.
  • Thorough knowledge of government administration, particularly the process for implementing community and economic development activities
  • Experience communicating information, both orally and in writing, to a diverse audience including state and federal agencies, local units of government, specialized professionals, residents, and community groups
  • Ability to engage interested parties and motivate them to understand and participate in community and economic development programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of eight (8) year's relevant experience in multi states
  • Worked with or experience with Congressional District Spending applications.
  • Experience with building multi-state community and economically focused teams
  • Previous experience with engineering or architectural consulting
  • Preference given to candidates residing in our Central Region states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Texas or surrounding areas

Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $110,000 and $150,000 based on skill set and experience.
