Position Summary

Organization: Generation Justice

Location: Onate Hall, Room 220 University of New Mexico

An Off-Campus Work-Study Position

About us: Generation Justice's (GJ) mission is to inspire youth to become multidimensional leaders who are
committed to social transformation. GJ is a multiracial, multicultural project that trains youth to harness the power of
community and raise critical consciousness through leadership development, civic engagement, media production,
and narrative shift in the following areas – racial justice, health, education, early childhood development, and
economic security. GJ has been recognized as the premier youth media/leadership group and has been the recipient of
numerous awards locally and nationally. We produce an hour-long radio production each week that airs on 89.9
KUNM FM on Sundays at 7 PM.

Main areas of responsibility:
Generation Justice (GJ) is seeking a bookkeeper and finance assistant to provide bookkeeping, finance
organization, operational support, and fundraising initiatives, including assistance in grant writing and
grant reporting. This team player will have exceptional organizational skills and experience in non-profit
operations and systems development.
Additional areas of responsibility:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to
● Manage staff contractor's payroll, reimbursements, and invoices
● Update grant tracking spreadsheets weekly
● Reconcile internal grant spreadsheets against fiscal sponsor's reports monthly
● Manage petty cash
● Personnel contracts and organizing HR information
● Filing of payroll, grant documents, and HR
● Donation tracking
● Budget planning and projections
● Equipment orders, inventories
● Assist with Reporting Finances to funders
● Other duties as required for the mission of GJ.

Requirements:
● Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the GJ mission
● Minimum of 2 years of experience in Bookkeeping/Payroll
● Hybrid position
● Fluency with both Google Suite and Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Google Sheets
