POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Accounting Manager for the Finance Department, you will oversee and manage the accounting team and operations, which include accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, general ledger reporting, grants, and fixed assets. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards and providing expert support to the Finance Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the accounting functions of the department.
  • Supervise professional, technical, and administrative support staff.
  • Perform complex accounting tasks to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Assist the Finance Director with specialized support in financial matters.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of professional accounting experience, including three (3) years in managing general ledger and budgets.
  • Experience with federally funded programs or fund accounting, including grants.
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in reading and writing English is essential for understanding procedures and technical manuals, as well as for effective communication with vendors, contractors, supervisors, and co-workers.
