The role of Pipe Stress Lead Engineer is responsible for analyzing and evaluating the design and performance of piping systems for ATF (Advanced Technological Facilities) projects on Ultrapure water, Wastewater, Bulk Gases, Specialty Gases, and Process Chemicals.

This role serves as the point of contact and supports the pipe stress engineers and designers, establishes project specific PSA (Pipe Stress Analysis) requirements and PSA procedures, and develops comprehensive pipe stress reports.

Pipe Stress Analysis:
Serve as the main point of contact and supports a team of engineers for the following activities:

Develop static and dynamic piping models

Analyzing system stresses using pipe stress analysis software

Designing piping support components

Evaluating nozzle loads

Collaborating with other departments.

Reviewing vendor documents.

Communication:
Communicate, guide, and instruct employees across different departments and levels within the organization, including Process and Mechanical Engineers.

Identify and address knowledge gaps to ensure comprehensive understanding and collaboration.

Project Delivery:
Hold the BIM team accountable for adhering to the pipe routing based on Process Engineering Team's P&IDs.

Establish stress analysis criteria based on building code and design best practices.

Complete PSA on piping systems as required and define support requirements.

Compile final PSA reports for integration into final piping plans.

Develop project budgets and maintain forecasts for work activities.

Procedures:
Establish and uphold PSA procedures, including developing templates for Pipe Stress Reports and checklists for stress analysis.

Implement a systematic approach to modeling and PSA to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Define clear deliverables for the Piping team and oversee their timely completion.

Pipe Modeling Support

Collaborate with the BIM Design team to set criteria for piping system routing. Provide instruction on locations requiring additional flexibility or loops early in design.

Review designs and offer expert advice on optimal pipe routing. Identify locations for shared racking supports and assist with space planning.

Minimum Required

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Minimum of 8 years' proven experience in pipe stress analysis and design

Preferred

Professional Engineer License, preferred

10 years' experience in pipe stress, preferred

Experience with plastic piping systems, preferred

Experience in budget management and forecasting for engineering projects, preferred

Prior experience using the following software:
ROHR2

CAESAR II
REVIT 3D

Navisworks

Bluebeam Revu

Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3 industry piping codes and standards

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams
