Responsibilities:
As a Swabian Instruments USA Technical Sales Development Representative, you will take a pivotal role in spearheading outbound sales campaigns, crafting technical content, and ensuring exceptional customer success post-purchase. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your engagement in sales by taking ownership of specific accounts within the business if desired. Your core responsibilities will encompass nurturing existing customer relationships, identifying new market avenues, and actively contributing to our marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background paired with a genuine enjoyment for interacting with others. Your technical knowledge will enable you to deeply understand our technology and the scope of our customers’ applications/requirements. Your communication skills will enable you to effectively diagnose the needs of our customers and convey the value our products can provide with respect to them. Lastly, any Swabian Instruments team member should demonstrate an insatiable drive and passion to be the absolute best at whatever they do. This job will be in person at our Boston office.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and maintains a relentless passion for self-improvement and growth. A consistent “hunter mentality” to continuously achieve and surpass goals and demonstrate perseverance throughout the processes is a must.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science required
- Demonstrated 'hunter' mentality to relentlessly identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Resilient and able to handle rejection during proactive prospecting and cold outreach, maintaining a positive attitude and persistence
- Self-motivated and driven to consistently improve in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to explain complex concepts in a polished, clean manner
- Excellent active listening, communication, and interpersonal skills tailored to your audience
- Effective organizational & time management skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
Nice to Haves:
- Experience working in a customer-facing role, preferably technical sales in the test & measurement industry
- Knowledge of research-driven industry verticals like Photonics, Life Sciences, Semiconductors, or Quantum Science
- Experience with CRM solutions like HubSpot, Salesforce, or comparable software
