Business Development Manager – MEP Construction
A leading mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction firm is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to spearhead the growth of its business development initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in the construction industry, ideally with experience in business development for MEP or sheet metal companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities that align with the company's strengths and goals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both private sector clients and public sector partners.
- Provide regular updates to the management team on business development activities and key performance indicators.
- Lead weekly sales meetings, producing detailed forecasts and updates on market trends and opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Estimating and Project Management teams to ensure accurate and competitive project proposals.
- Strategically engage with industry associations, trade groups, and community organizations to build networks and present the company’s services.
- Guide the preparation of technical proposals and marketing materials that highlight the company's strengths and successful track record.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in business development within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of the MEP sector or sheet metal business development is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with CRM software and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Must be local to the Roanoke, VA area, as this role requires on-site presence with limited travel flexibility.
