Business Development Representative – AI Startup
As a Business Development Representative on the direct sales team, you will identify, source and close net new business opportunities that fall within the small business space (1-100 employees). Using strong consultative selling skills, you will balance primarily passive leads for your pipeline in addition to qualifying inbound leads. This role will require a team member with strong prospecting skills, a strong commitment to win and the desire to continue growing in a SaaS sales career.
Prospecting: Responsible for prospecting, qualifying leads, and approximately 3-5 discovery calls per day where you would uncover pain points, challenges, and provide value
Presentations: Be expected to run 1-3 demos per week for prospective customers
Sales Cycle Management: Educate and guide prospects through the sales cycle (average 30 days) to help them learn how CustomGPT can grow their business in the short term and scale for the long term
Pipeline Management: Manage a pipeline of primarily outbound prospects (about 50%) as well as inbound leads to identify, engage, and develop relationships with potential buyers
Close: Close net new business at or above quota level
Cross functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing and technology departments to execute sales strategy as the company introduces enhancements to existing solutions and/or releases new products
Innovate: Bring your thinking, strategies, and ideas to advance our company’s values, unique culture, and vision for the future
Salary: 60k base + 50k ARR
All in potential: 110k
Who we’re looking for:
- 1-4 years of experience
- Bachelors’ degree in business or STEM field preferred
- One year of experience working with self-sourced or passive leads
- Have at least 1 years of net new closing experience (SaaS experience is a plus)
- Strong value’s fit and one who has passion to grow in their career
- Have exceptional consultative selling and closing skills
- Displayed success in previous roles
- Metric driven focus toward meeting and exceeding quota
- Using strong consultative selling skills, you will balance primarily passive leads for your pipeline in addition to qualifying inbound leads
- Manage a pipeline of primarily passive prospects (about 50%) as well as inbound leads to identify, engage, and develop relationships with potential buyers
- Are proactive in uncovering and solutioning their gaps and raising their skill level

No remote work: This job is for an in-person role at our Needham, MA office. We’re a highly collaborative group, and find that in-person interaction is best for our cohesive culture
