SYSTEMS TEST TECHNICIAN

An Engineering Technology company seeks to hire a System Test Technician to assemble, test, troubleshoot, calibrate and repair system assemblies and sub-components for their product.

Job Duties:

  • System assembly includes electrical panel fabrication and wiring per engineering assembly drawings/schematics plus integration of computers and software as required.
  • Hand tools to include wire/cable cutting/stripping, wire/cable crimpers and soldering plus assembly, cutting, drilling and tapping mechanical assemblies as required.
  • System assemblies include but not limited to In-Vivo Systems, NDA Systems and Criticality Systems along with sub-components including pulsers, derandomizers and other special electronic assemblies required to provide a turn-key customer solution.
  • May operate small production machines during assembly. To play an active role in creating a safe and healthy workplace and comply with all applicable safety and health rules.
  • Test instruments for resistance, voltage, frequency, current, and other characteristics, using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, counters, computers, and other specialized test equipment in accordance with engineering procedures.
  • Basic troubleshooting, repair or replacement of defective components in instruments, using schematics, hand tools, and soldering & de-soldering equipment, computers, and other specialized test equipment. Includes disassembly of instruments, using hand tools, and examining parts for defects.
  • Keep QA records of repair calibration and test of instruments
  • Final assembly (i.e.: hardware, wiring, soldering, and software installation/setup).
  • Prelim and final test of completed products.
  • A. function (make ready for shipment).
  • Comply with Quality Procedures.
  • Maintain schedule accuracies.
  • Visually inspect manufactured items for cosmetics, workmanship, soldering, conformance to drawings, and quality standards.
  • Verify proper revision levels and markings per prints.
  • Investigate, research, and identify components in error.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least one-year post-high school education in electronics, electrical engineering, or similar discipline, OR 3 year's electronics related experience.
  • Soldering skills
  • Use of all test equipment (meter, scope, etc.).
  • Ability to read schematic and blueprints.
  • Understand basic electronic theory.
  • Read and identify electronic components.
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Good eye vision for close up work (may use simple aids as required).
  • Ability to read and follow QA procedures.
  • Ability to safely lift 50lbs. with assistance.
