Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical sales support and will use their technical knowledge to assist existing customers and develop new sales for our campaigns. The successful candidate will participate in many facets of the business including communications with the potential and existing customer base, providing engineering calculations, quotations, and technical support, analysis support, potential travel, and any other services required by the customers/representatives and our client in support of their Growth Strategy. This position of Sales Engineer will focus heavily on our clients Industrial Product line, but may extend to other segments of the company, and will evolve over time.
Essential Functions
- General and technical support for the Sales Directors and Managers.
- Knowledge of the company product lines and especially industrial products
- Customer support via phone, email, WebEx and Teams meetings, visits.
- Creating a Plan of action for regular follow-up and communication with customers, new and existing.
- Overall account management of industrial product line from applications engineering through product quoting, order entry, order management and customer service.
- In support of Campaign and Capture Plans per our Growth Strategy, identify new potential opportunities through networking, trade magazines, social media, internet articles and incoming leads.
- Assisting customers through the process of our clients product design and optimization for use in their applications via virtual and in-person meetings as required.
- Utilization of the company’s CRM system to manage opportunities
- Possible future travel for presentations and/or technical conferences or meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Needs exceptional work ethic and the desire to complete tasks fully, efficiently, and properly.
- Strong capabilities with Excel and the entire Microsoft Office 365 suite. Experience with Infor
- ERP (SyteLine) and CRM systems is preferred but not a requirement.
- Interest in using technical knowledge for sales & marketing efforts.
