AVP of Organizational Development
CCI Consulting has been exclusively retained by Inspira Health to help them identify and secure a talented and experienced AVP of Organizational Development to join the Human Resources team as they seek to build out the Organizational Development function. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role manages three staff (one Director, one External Relations Manager, and one Staff Administrator) providing support across the entire health network comprising 7,000+ employees in 24/7 operations. The AVP of Organizational Development is responsible for creating a learning development strategy that aligns with Inspira’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.
The ideal candidate will possess a master’s-level degree in organizational development or human resources and 8-10 years of Human Resources experience (preferably in a multi-site healthcare setting) in the Organizational Development or Learning and Development function. Inspira seeks a strategic OD leader who can build the entire function from the ground up and has proven experience building relationships across the enterprise. Strong executive presence and organizational skills, as well as change management skills, are necessary for this role. This leader will need to build trustful, influential relationships across all levels. The AVP of Organizational Development will be visible at the sites, working with managers, leaders, and executives to create and execute the strategic OD plan.
Position Summary
The AVP of Organizational Development is responsible for the creation of a learning development strategy, building a robust OD function for the entire enterprise, and designing and launching programs to meet the needs of Inspira Health’s growth plans. The new Learning and Development Leader will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous learning within the organization to drive employee growth and overall organizational success.
Job Specific Duties:
- Develop and implement strategic learning and development plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify skill gaps and training needs through regular assessments.
- Design and deliver effective training programs that enhance employees' skills and knowledge.
- Utilize various learning methods, including e-learning, workshops, on-the-job training, and other modes of learning.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and vendors, including relationships with local college and university leaders.
- Create and update training materials, modules, and curricula to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and insights internally and externally.
- Develop and oversee new employee orientation.
- Develop strategies to enhance employee engagement.
- Implement leadership development programs to nurture and enhance leadership skills across all levels.
- Provide coaching and mentoring support to leaders and high-potential employees.
- Establish metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
- Utilize data and analytics to assess the effectiveness of OD programs and initiatives.
- Provide reports and presentations for executive leadership on OD activities and outcomes.
- Conduct regular evaluations to assess the impact of learning initiatives on employee performance.
- Develop and manage the budget for learning and development initiatives.
- Optimize resources to ensure cost-effective training solutions.
- Design and deliver OD interventions such as team building, leadership, development, and change management.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in human resources, organizational development, healthcare administration, or other related field required, master’s preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of organizational or learning development experience is required. Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
- Must be energetic and results-oriented.
- Must be able to build, lead, and motivate a high-performance team.
- Must have experience in working with enterprise learning management systems, preferably HealthStream.
