Description

Williams Consulting, LLC is seeking a skilled Public Health Communications Specialist with enterprise-wide experience in driving process and business quality assurance and integrity efforts in programs for the Federal government. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing documentation to support projects for federal agencies. The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery of critical deliverables, develop marketing communications, and contribute to the development of various reports and electronic materials.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write short, visually appealing content on public health topics.
  • Support communications planning, development of marketing plans and materials, and stakeholder education.
  • Create and review reports, training materials, surveys and documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity and adherence to standards and guidelines.
  • Analyze, author, or edit business and technical documents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather information for documentation development.
  • Develop visually engaging graphics to enhance documentation, training and newsletters.
  • Produce electronic materials, ensuring 508 compliance for accessibility.
  • Develop, edit, and proofread project deliverables and communications for accuracy, consistency and clarity.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Experience

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Public Health, Communications, Journalism or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in technical writing and communications within the public health sector.
  • Experience in developing marketing plans, newsletters and communication material required.
  • Strong understanding of cancer screening and access to care preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) preferred.
  • Experience in federal government contracting is a plus.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise messaging.
  • Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in graphics software.
  • Exceptional plain language writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and efficient time management.
  • Knowledge of health equity, healthcare industry standards, regulations, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced understanding of and ability to conform to Section 508 requirements.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and a positive work ethic in all situations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities.
  • Background investigation required.
  • Ability to pass Federal Public Trust clearance.
