We're looking for a Funding Manager to join our Team

As a Funding Manager at Channel, you will play a pivotal role in driving our company's growth and success by overseeing all aspects of funding operations within an assigned region/segment. The Funding Manager is responsible for supporting our partners by completing the documentation, review and funding of both Equipment Finance and Working Capital loans/advances and is accountable for leading the Funding Team with a focus on key metrics and reporting to assure superior performance across the team.


The position will be a working manager with the expectation of dedicating 25-50% of time to working transactions (directly or indirectly), with the remaining time focused on people management, supporting policy and procedures, reporting and monitoring, and projects and initiatives. The best candidates will be detailed oriented, comfortable reviewing key provisions of the document with clients prior to funding, team oriented, and eager to be a part of a rapidly growing business.


Key Tasks

  • Continue core functions, production and timely completion of all documentation workflow and boarding of Channel transactions, including critical review of fraud checks
  • Accountable for following documentation procedures to process loan/advance & equipment finance documents, maintaining deal folders, managing queue, and handling funding requests from partners
  • Leadership of all staff within the Channel Funding Team, including hiring, training, growth and development, conflict management, and performance assessment across the team
  • Monitor SLAs and key metrics to assure team is striving towards superior quality and production while adhering to policy and procedure and meeting turnaround expectations
  • Functional expertise across products to support staff, policy and process, and work transactions
  • Oversee third-party processors that support UCCs, assuring perfection where required
  • Share observations, recommendations, and new ideas, escalating critical items timely to Director of Operations
  • Ongoing assessment of existing and new documentation, onboarding, and funding processes
  • Provide functional leadership for key projects and initiatives, including new product development, systems and processes, test/pilot projects/initiatives, training, and collaboration with IT teams as needed
  • Collaboration with internal staff and departments, partners, and customers
  • Generate funding and audit worksheets for accounting department
  • Other duties as required (reporting, projects, etc.)


Skills & Specifications

  • Leadership of a growing team that covers multiple products
  • Ability to build processes, document procedure, and develop training materials for clear, consistent, repeatable results
  • Capable of problem solving, innovating, and taking a balanced-risk approach to the work
  • Interview, hire, train, and manage assigned staff for optimal performance

  • Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational and time management skills

Education & Qualifications

  • 2- or 4-year degree is preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience as a Funding Coordinator or similar role
  • Prior experience in the Working Capital, Merchant Cash Advance, or Equipment Finance markets is preferred
