The Sales Operations Manager will have a deep understanding of Sales Operations processes and technology and will be responsible for driving initiatives around optimizing those systems for the Channel and Elite business units. This position drives corporate alignment through leading the strategic planning, execution, and communication of sales business processes, and lending additional support for marketing initiatives from a technical execution standpoint. This role will have an emphasis on the technology components needed to drive efficiencies within the Sales and Marketing teams. Significant Salesforce experience is required, including System Administrative Salesforce capabilities. You will be expected to assist with Salesforce technology implementations supporting needed to fulfill this role. You will also support technology requirements, implementation, and user acceptance testing for any technology deliverables that will be used by the sales team.


The Sales Operations Manager will report to the Director of Software Engineering, with a dotted line to the Managing Director, and alignment with Chief Marketing Officer where relevant to cross-functional initiatives. This position is expected to work majority from our Minnetonka office, with some hybrid flexibility.


Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related field or relevant work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in a software development role
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior development role
  • 5+ years of IT management and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated project management experience using agile methodologies preferred


Skills & Specifications

  • Significant Salesforce experience is required, including System Administrative Salesforce capabilities
  • Excellent PC skills and knowledge of relevant software solutions
  • General understanding of the IT architecture processes/models and software development processes
  • Excellent Team Leadership with proven success in motivating others and providing direction
  • Enterprise perspective and foresight, understanding broader implications of strategy across all business systems, while accounting for near and long-term project-level implications
  • Highly developed relationship and management skills with proven ability to work independently and manage multiple teams concurrently
  • Proven record of driving continuous improvement
  • Results-driven with the ability to prioritize, take initiative, and take ownership
  • Strong presentation skills for a variety of audiences including executive management; ability to interact cross-functionally and communicate clearly with any level
  • Ability to work closely with Software Test Engineering, Applications Managers, and Team Leads to provide direction
  • Ability to work closely with Software QA, Applications Managers, and Team Leads to provide direction


Key Tasks

  • Oversee and enhance sales process optimization and implementation
  • Improving sales and operations workflow and accuracy of execution and reporting
  • Design, develop, and administer Salesforce dashboards and related reporting, enabling sales management and marketing activation support with tools to identify actionable insights
  • Source, document, and optimize revenue generating processes including customer and partner marketing, sales prospecting, partner onboarding, originations, lead/opportunity management, and ongoing relationship management
  • Design, develop, and manage sales prospecting campaigns to generate new sales opportunities leading to application growth, with support for relevant marketing implementation needs pertaining to technology and/or data flowthrough
  • Improve any possible selling or non-selling process tasks where an ROI can be demonstrated
  • Align, evaluate, and integrate all available Channel technology
  • Responsible for the implementation and administration of sales tools
  • Responsible for the analysis and evaluation of performance sales metrics
  • Oversee sales training – including content, mentoring process, and training events around any sales process capabilities
  • Responsible for sales data management and communication, including work-flow and process performance analytics
  • Implement and test Salesforce technology deliverables in support of both sales and marketing initiatives
  • Provide input and assist with the implementation and testing of any Channel technology changes that would impact Channel and Elite processes
  • Collaborate with business leaders on business workflow and technology integration
  • Act as the point person to resolve technology challenges for the development area of focus
  • Engage with business leaders in onboarding, integrating, customizing, and testing applications so that information technologies align with business needs
  • Exercise management and coordination responsibilities with other IT functional areas by effectively communicating strategic and operational objectives
  • Participate in departmental strategic and planning processes, provide recommendations on policies and goals, and implement programs according to established guidelines
  • Provide staff training and supplemental external resources to maximize team efficiency
  • Apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide teams on issues related to the deployment, integration, and customization of software applications
  • Assist, recommend and implement lead and partner scoring models to better target accounts and increase partner ramp and account penetration
  • Review current processes and establish continuous improvement plans for application, integration, and software test teams
  • Review and analyze existing applications’ effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems
  • Verify software application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented
  • Other duties deemed necessary by Channel IT leadership
