Regional Human Resources Manager

Flagship has an exciting opportunity experienced Regional HR manager to oversee high profile clients in California, NY and throughout the US.
The Regional HR Manager is responsible for oversight of all aspects of Human Resources in the culinary division throughout the United States. This position serves both as a consultant to front line leaders on human resources related issues, as well as the trusted advisor to their direct reports. The HR Director will ensure the HR team is successfully engaging with their operations business partners to promote the best work experience for both a union and non-union workforce. The ideal candidate will possess strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication, collaboration skills and has successfully demonstrated the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in an extremely fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have significant experience operating in a union multi-state environment. Process oriented with a focus on metrics, with the ability to identify, implement and support innovative and practical solutions and improvements. The HR Director establishes strong partnerships across the other HR facets to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
Must have experience working with a unionized workforce and be in a commutable distance to Menlo Park with 10%-15% travel.

Essential Functions
- Collaborates with all facets of the labor relations process, including cultivating strong relationships with key leaders and stakeholders.
- Oversee grievance administration and effectively represent the company in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
- Actively participates in contract negotiations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
- Act as a collaborator and consulting partner for the employee relations team members on complex questions and cases.
- Act as the advocate for employee relations with a focus on enhancing the awareness and practices of leaders and managers.
- Coach and assist managers in developing performance management/corrective action plans. Predict high-impact issues and recommend solutions.
- Lead a small team of HR Business Partners to support projects and compliance with key HR goals and initiatives across the culinary division.
- Consult with operations management and field HR team to provide guidance, while building and maintaining an environment for team members that results in a high client-focus and an engaged workforce.
- Collaborate with Operations Leaders and Recruiting to anticipate, review and maintain adequate staffing levels.
- Collaborate and consult on the design and delivery of employee relations programs and training with the Legal and Learning and Development teams to deliver effective solutions. Provide consultative support and guidance to managers on implementation and execution of core human capital programs.
- Works with the field supervisors and managers to resolve employee relations issues, by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation in alignment with company policy and collective bargaining agreements.
- Provide guidance and input on business restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Other duties as assigned and requested.
Knowledge and Skills
- Thorough understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Solid Employee Relations case management and advisory experience and/or employment legal experience, including hands-on investigations experience a must.
- Sound knowledge of employment laws and regulations with a high bar of integrity.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to frame, confront and present complex issues to varying audiences, influence and make difficult decisions.
- Must be versatile, flexible, and able to perform in stressful situations.
- Must have good time management and organization skills with ability to manage timelines and deadlines within set expectations.
- Must be able to work with an array of people in a sensitive manner.
- Must have excellent assertive communication skills.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Ability to think strategically and drive results.
- Strong problem resolution skills.
- HRCI/SHRM certification a plus.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish (Preferred but not required).
- Ability to reside a minimum of three days a week at the client site.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resources, or related subject; or equivalent experience.
- Ten plus years of employee relations and investigation experience, 5 plus years of leading an employee relations team within a high-volume environment.
- 5 plus years’ experience working with a unionized workforce.
