Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing internal support through the review of engineering drawings, performing material take-offs, generating cost proposals, assisting with project development, and engaging with internal and external personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review engineering drawings and documents to understand project requirements
- Perform accurate take-offs of equipment to generate cost proposals based on project specifications
- Develop in-depth knowledge of product offerings and their applications through training
- Assist Outside Sales staff with project development from inception to completion
- Assist in designing tailored solutions that meet specific customer application requirements by applying HVAC engineering principles
- Engage with customers daily to provide technical support, contribute to sales efforts, and assist in closing sales
- Learn and utilize various selection software provided by manufacturers to aid in project development
- Maintain effective communication with team members regarding project management processes
- Effectively present information to customers and colleagues in various settings
- Perform general administrative tasks to support equipment fulfillment processes, including order entry, order tracking, and report generation
- Conduct occasional jobsite visits to review equipment layouts
- Perform other job duties as assigned
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Engineering; or relevant industry experience of 0 to 5 years
Experience:
- Experience in the HVAC, Mechanical Contracting, Engineering, or Construction industry, preferred
Technical Skills:
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Proficiency with and/or the ability to quickly learn Salesforce CRM
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, compute percentages, and interpret graphs
- Ability to effectively present information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting at a desk for 7-8 hours a day
- Working on a computer for 7-8 hours a day
- Flexibility to work overtime as required by project demands
- Available for travel in and out of state, including short notice travel, and overnight stays
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in various settings, including job site visits
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
