The Marketing & Communications team at World Business Chicago prides ourselves on our successful original content marketing strategy, which has positioned the organization as a trusted resource and online destination for news, data, analysis, and business announcements within the city and Chicagoland region’s economic development landscape. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across all channels, with a focus on our website and LinkedIn platform to promote economic development in Chicago and the Chicagoland region, targeting investment, corporate relocation, expansion, and site selection.
  • Curate engaging digital content, including videos, photos, blogs, social media posts, and interactive experiences, highlighting the region's industry, emerging ecosystems, and economic strengths.
  • Share success stories of thriving businesses within the region, accompanied by testimonials to build credibility.
  • Increase followers, impressions, and engagement on agency’s LinkedIn platform to connect more effectively with businesses, investors, and professionals interested in economic development opportunities across industries throughout the city and Chicagoland region.
  • Showcase the city and region's qualities and strengths by ensuring the website is user-friendly and regularly updated, serving as a central hub for news, research, marketing, and agency initiatives. You will oversee the daily management of this WordPress website, ensuring an engaging, always-on user experience, applying best practices in UI design, and building and managing team and initiative-specific landing pages, and more.
  • Utilize SEO, SEM, PPC, and data analytics to monitor campaign performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and optimize results.
  • Monitor online conversations, reviews, and sentiment related to business in Chicago, developing proactive strategies to address challenges or negative perceptions.
  • with the Marketing Communications team to strategize and plan the attendance and coverage of agency and partner events, including those scheduled during weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Ensure comprehensive event coverage across the website and social media platforms to maximize exposure and engagement with target audiences.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in digital marketing, interactive marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital and web maintenance and content creation, preferably within an agency.
  • Skilled in WordPress administration, UI design, CMS platforms, collaboration tools, and analytics programs. Familiarity with HTML/CSS or similar languages is a plus, allowing for a more holistic understanding of web development.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, small team environment.
  • Familiarity with basic graphic design tools and SEO principles.
  • Proven track record of creating, improving, maintaining, monitoring, and overseeing digital content initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in preferred in business, urban planning, public policy, or related field.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid work environment, with an expectation of at least 3 days spent in office.
