About the Target Account Manager Role


As a Target Account Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Target team lead on daily client management activities as well as driving successful business partnerships and inventory management strategies between Target and our vendor partners.

Voyageur Group is growing rapidly and as such it will be necessary to wear multiple hats. For instance, some of the responsibilities listed below will be necessary in the near term but will shift to a different role as the team expands.

This role requires advocacy on behalf of vendors to help them solve problems, understand the needs of Target, and be successful in their business. Account managers must build strong relationships with vendors and Target through effective communication, delivering profitable sales growth and excellent customer support. The ability to collaborate effectively across multiple divisions at Voyageur Group to meet your business needs is paramount.


Responsibilities include:

  • Lead forecasting, inventory flow, and reporting efforts with Target’s Inventory and Planning teams and with vendor partners.
  • Monitor purchase orders, and current and future inventory and provide a proactive strategy to solve any out of stocks.
  • Analyze vendor performance metrics to identify root-cause issues, ultimately solving vendor performance problems and suggesting tactics to proactively reduce future issues.
  • Become the expert on Target’s Domestic & Import Shipping requirements (e.g., labeling requirements related to Barcodes and UPCs) and Routing systems.
  • Assists in the new vendor setup process and holds all vendors accountable for adhering to Target’s standards.
  • End-to-end item setup & maintenance process owner with close attention to detail to ensure complete and accurate information.
  • Effectively manage the sample process ensuring items are ordered, tracked, labeled, and provided to Target on time.
  • Coordinates with the Sales Team and Retail Media team on advertising priorities, promotions, and innovation.
  • Manage online content audits & setup including website monitoring, submitting content, and monitoring reviews.
  • Create and manage all timing and actions for internal and client use with accuracy.
  • Support preparation of line reviews, innovation sessions, “Top-to-Tops”, and other key meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding program agreements, pricing, product information, order status, planning issues, and vendor set-ups.
  • Conduct comp shopping and competitive analysis to support the growth goals of customers, identify new trends, and find white space.
  • Identify opportunities within your role in addition to your vendor, to simplify processes and drive efficiencies, and work cross-functionally to implement guidance and training to improve them.


Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with or at Target’s corporate offices
  • Strong understanding of Target systems including POL, PCN, Item, LaunchPad, Content Pipeline, ShipIQ, POP, Synergy & Greenfield
  • Proficient in Excel and Office suite of products including PowerPoint and Google Sheets/slides/docs.
  • Experience with inventory management, demand planning, and forecasting.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and make recommendations.
  • Adept at working on multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting and exceeding established goals and deadlines; manage work in a fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • High level of attention to detail, data integrity, organization, and quality of work
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Accountability and the ability to build trust is a must. Mistakes can happen, and not being accountable to them cannot. Building trust is paramount for this role and our company’s culture.
