The Challenge:

As an Associate Director in our Solution Architecture and Engineering team for R&D Digital Products, you'll play a key role in revolutionizing antibody-based medicines through the integration of AI and Digital Technologies. This position is part of our IT & Digital Team and will report to the Director of Engineering and Solution Architecture, R&D Digital Products.


As a Technical Solution Architect focused on R&D, you'll drive digital transformation by designing and building innovative software solutions and platforms. You'll lead a skilled team in Application Engineering, Development, and Release Automation, ensuring that our solutions adhere to well-architected frameworks and excellence in execution.


Roles & Responsibilities:

• Solution Architecture: Develop technical designs for R&D, conducting current-state analysis, gap analysis, and capability analysis to document reference architectures for various R&D systems.

• Data Architecture: Collaborate with Data & Analytics, and Data Science & AI teams to integrate data sources, pipelines, and platforms, supporting core solution architecture.

• Collaboration: Work with POD Managers, Product Owners, and Business Leaders to align high-level designs with business and scientific objectives. Engage with other architects and IT&D functions to create innovative and optimal solutions.

• Tool and Platform Evaluation: Select the best tools, platforms, and services for solutions, ensuring alignment with Enterprise standards and guidelines.

• Implementation: Lead the implementation and deployment of solutions, working with domain architects and vendors as needed. Ensure solutions are scalable, cost-effective, and leverage existing investments.

• Agile Methodologies: Apply Agile methodologies to ensure standards are met for test automation, quality, performance, security, and compliance.

• Technology Leadership: Stay updated on leading practices and trends in AI, ML, GenAI, NLP, data platforms, mesh architecture, and high-performance computing. Contribute to and utilize company standards, patterns, and reference architectures.

• Team Leadership: Lead a skilled team with potential for expansion, focusing on Application Engineering, Development, and Release Automation.


Essential Qualifications & Requirements:

• Industry Experience: Experience in Life Sciences, Biotech, or Pharma is essential.

• Educational Background: Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.


Professional Experience:

o 10+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or infrastructure administration.

o At least 5 years of Cloud Solution Architecture experience (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

o Extensive experience with data architecture, distributed systems, microservices, and full-stack development.

o Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage, and security.

o Experience with machine learning, data science tools, and AI/ML operational systems.


Technical Expertise: Proficiency in APIs, integrations, Data Lake and federation, Agile delivery, DevSecOps processes, and automation testing in an enterprise environment.


Certifications:

o AWS Cloud Solution Architect Certification is preferred.

o Additional certifications in cloud computing platforms like Microsoft Azure or GCP, as well as AI/ML and digital innovation, are advantageous.


Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills.
