Kirby Bates Associates has been exclusively retained by University of Michigan Health-Sparrow (UMH-Sparrow) to conduct their search for the new VP, Finance for EW Sparrow Hospital (comparable to hospital CFO role.)


Have a direct impact on empowering the provision of exceptional healthcare in Mid-Michigan by working in concert with Key leaders to develop and drive the strategic financial plans for Lansing Hospital and the region.


UMH-Sparrow, Mid-Michigan’s only community-owned and community-governed health system, is looking for a seasoned and strategic finance leader for their flagship hospital. The area’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, EW Sparrow Hospital, is known for delivering world-class care that’s close to home.


Opportunity Highlights:

  • Join a rapidly growing organization whose impact at more than 150 sites of care: EW Sparrow Hospital, community hospitals in Carson City, Charlotte, Iona and St. Johns, and the 478 UMH-Sparrow primary care providers and specialists serving patients in multiple locations across the region.
  • Part of the prestigious University of Michigan Health System.
  • Reports directly to the Regional VP, Finance with a dotted line to the hospital President.
  • Partner with the Regional VP, Finance, EW Sparrow President and the executive team to develop and implement long-term financial and operational strategies that support the organization’s overall business objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior finance leadership role with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting tools.
