The Windows Systems Engineer shall have the following qualifications:

  • Possess a solid understanding of the AWS infrastructure (e.g., AWS Windows EC2, Workspaces, AppStream, System Manager), security and compliance measures, automation tools, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Designing and deploying AWS infrastructure: Solid understanding of the AWS platform and be able to design and deploy AWS infrastructure that meets the specific needs of the Agency.
  • Managing and monitoring AWS resources: Managing and monitoring AWS resources, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, and other AWS services, to ensure the network is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Implementing security and compliance measures: Solid understanding of AWS security best practices. Implement security and compliance measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with Government regulations.
  • Automating tasks and workflows: Demonstrated experience with automation tools like AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions and automate tasks and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • AWS Cloud Migration and Migration Strategies: Demonstrated experience in creating cloud migration strategies, defining delivery architecture, creating migration plans including risks analysis, and orchestrating the plans.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues: Must be able to quickly identify and resolve issues with AWS infrastructure and services, and work with other members of the team to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Managing costs and optimizing performance: must have experience with cost optimization tools like AWS Cost Explorer and be able to optimize AWS resources to reduce costs while maintaining optimal performance.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams: Work closely with other IT teams, including developers, network engineers, and security teams, to ensure seamless integration of AWS infrastructure with other IT systems and applications.
