Position Overview:

We are in search of an innovative and proficient Java Cloud Solutions Engineer with expertise in AWS Cloud Services. This role involves the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based microservices applications within a cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will offer daily mentorship and support to team members while overseeing technical operations that include software builds, installations, upgrades, security measures, scalability, troubleshooting, and system performance optimization. You will contribute significantly to the creation of modern, user-centric web applications that emphasize accessibility and user experience. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Agile methodologies will be advantageous.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement Java microservices, RESTful APIs, and web applications.
  • Create front-end web applications that are responsive, user-friendly, and compliant with accessibility standards.
  • Ensure a smooth and engaging user experience through intuitive web interactions.
  • Maintain infrastructure utilizing Terraform (IaC).
  • Regularly commit code to version control systems.
  • Actively engage in the Agile development lifecycle, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Implement a thorough change management process, effectively tracking and categorizing changes to comply with established standards.
  • Provide technical support for tier 2 application issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in Java-based microservices and web applications.
  • Expertise in Spring Boot microservices architecture, Spring frameworks, and Spring security.
  • Proficiency in fundamental front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like Angular and/or React.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud services, including AWS EC2/Fargate, AWS ECS, RDS, and S3.
  • Experience with Terraform and Docker.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies, including SAFe and Scrum.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to perform log analysis and provide tier 2 support.
