Navistar Defense - Protecting freedom and those who defend it
COMPANY SUMMARY: Navistar Defense was previously a subsidiary of the parent company Navistar, Inc. A few years ago they divested themselves of our unit and we became an independent company. Our company environment is currently a blend of legacy experience / staff, and new ideas and fresh perspectives from recently hired talent. We have also added commercial manufacturing to our portfolio, in addition to our rich history of designing and manufacturing state of the art tactical wheeled vehicles and products for the military. This exciting new chapter in our company poses both risks and rewards, opportunities and challenges. This position will be instrumental in growing our commercial contract manufacturing line of business. Recent commercial projects include trailers, box vans, dry vans, and ramps. New business could include a wide variety of products from across many industries.
Job Summary:
This person will manage the growth of our business by deploying the resources necessary to identify, capture, and win new commercial contract manufacturing business. This person works directly with the CEO and CGO to attract new clients, maintain existing relationships, conduct market research, develop business strategies and pitches, identify new business opportunities, and present business opportunities in accordance with established approval processes.
Responsibilities:
- Proven understanding of the company's vision and mission, goals and objectives.
- Conduct commercial market segment research, unfilled segment needs and identify potential commercial contract manufacturing clients or services.
- Strategic understanding of the commercial contract manufacturing industry including processes, capabilities, market trends, and competitors is essential.
- Cultivate strong relationships with new clients, while maintaining existing client relationships.
- Collate and maintain client information and generate B2B clients value stream benefits.
- Work closely with staff across departments to implement growth strategies.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, client service and retention plans, and analyze sales data to inform or update marketing strategies.
- Assist with drafting business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference materials, and other documents as required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Identify new business opportunities and partners.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, or related field
- 5 years’ experience in commercial or defense contract manufacturing sales with proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in B2B sales, particularly in the manufacturing sector, with KPI’s on marketing dollars.
- Demonstrated success in increasing sales in a contract manufacturing environment required.
- Existing network in commercial Contract Manufacturing markets
- Ability to lead and motivate a sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure team members are equipped to meet their targets. Effective leadership fosters a positive and productive sales culture.
- Excellent communication skills are vital for building relationships with clients, understanding their requirements, and effectively conveying the value proposition of the commercial contract manufacturing services offered.
· Adept at negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with clients while ensuring profitability for the company.
· Strong negotiation skills are crucial for closing deals and maximizing revenue.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure
- Strong organization and project management skills, with PMP certification preferred.
- Friendly and personable demeanor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software
