Available Position: Textile Converter
Division: PK Contract
Reports To: VP, Operations
Where We Are: This position is based in our midtown Manhattan office Monday through Thursday; Friday is a remote workday.
What You Will Do:
This position manages the purchasing, print production processing, and quality assurance.
You will oversee all stages of the textiles manufacturing process, including purchasing unprocessed or greige goods directly from a fabric supplier, & then manage the print process to convert goods into finished fabrics.
You will ensure that the process runs smoothly, is profitable, and delivers quality products to the right standard in a timely manner.
Main responsibilities include:
• Manage full life cycle finished product process - from lab dip of new colors, strike off, to bulk production.
• Communicate and follow up with domestic and overseas factories, fabric mills, and customers as well as internal design, sales, logistics, quality, and customer service teams.
• Collaborate with studio to maintain accuracy of production orders.
• Communicate with testing facilities on expectations. Issue testing requests to labs. Have/gain knowledge of Contract testing requirements, specifications, to ensure quality meets industry standards.
• Manage customer claims through research and communication with team members and customers.
• Plan and monitor production schedules, working closely with fabric suppliers and management to resolve production delays and issues.
• Ensure timely deliveries to final customers by collaborating closely with team members and suppliers.
• Maintain awareness of all past production issues and problems, proactively working to avoid repeat mistakes from happening that result in minimizing and preventing potential chargebacks.
• Analyze sales data and issue new purchase orders and purchase contracts and process any related purchase order changes.
• Prepare inventory status reports.
• Manage costing of finished fabrics
