Job Summary

The Desktop Support Specialist is a member of the Technology Department responsible for supporting the Firm’s user community. This includes providing support for Microsoft products, mobile devices, laptops, printers, basic network issues, phone usage, and general technical support for both onsite and remote users. The position also serves as the primary video conferencing technician, preparing and supporting the A/V environment.


Duties/Responsibilities

- Configuring, optimizing and troubleshooting Windows 10/11

- Experience with setting up video conferencing meetings, especially Zoom

- Proficient in supporting Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)

- Experienced with mobile device support

- Strong troubleshooting skills

- Maintains a positive and professional attitude

- Regularly communicates with IT management about departmental issues

- Demonstrates effective time management and ability to prioritize workload

- Upholds high standards of integrity and business ethics

- Abides by company rules, policies, procedures, and applicable laws

- Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position

- Meets department productivity standards

- Ensures compliance with rules and regulations

- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations and safeguards confidential

information

- Performs other related duties as required

- Productive in a technical support environment

- Excellent customer service skills


Required Skills/Abilities

- Proficient with Windows operating systems: Must have a strong background in Windows,

including experience with troubleshooting, profiles, utilities and optimization.

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

- Ability to work with confidential information

- Ability to work effectively in either an independent or team environment

- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills

- Detailed and deadline-oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task

- Flexible and responsive to changing business needs

- Ability to prepare new equipment for deployment

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

- Works well with coworkers, peers, management, and Firm clients

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite


Education and Experience

- CompTIA A+ required

- Two years of hands-on desktop support experience required

- Law Firm experience a plus


Physical Requirements

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

- Must be able to lift and move equipment during installation and maintenance


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

- Full-time position with a 40-hour work week

- Workdays are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

- Occasional, infrequent evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand


Travel

- Occasional, infrequent daytime travel may be required
