Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Professional to join our Office IT team at Staffing Technologies. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to employees and contractors, addressing technical issues from resolving PC and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) challenges to deploying new hardware and developing automation scripts for Office 365 environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert support for users to resolve technical issues, particularly in VDI environments, deployments, and scripting solutions.
- Manage VDI services to ensure a seamless user experience for remote desktop access and troubleshoot any issues in the virtual environment.
- Deploy and configure laptops and desktops, including hardware staging, imaging, and software installation.
- Handle daily operations tasks including onboarding new hires, adjusting SharePoint permissions, and monitoring technology health.
- Manage users, groups, devices, and permissions through the Azure portal.
- Administer laptops, mobile devices, and compliance settings via the Intune portal.
- Oversee Office 365 components such as users, licenses, shared mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive via the O365 admin portal.
- Write, update, and execute PowerShell scripts to automate configurations and tasks across O365, Azure, Intune, and VDI environments.
- Monitor and maintain compliance and security of laptops, ensuring they meet configuration and virus protection standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all technology and ensure up-to-date documentation for processes.
- Perform scheduled changes and deployments that impact both the laptop and network environments.
- Collaborate on ongoing and future IT projects, identifying areas for improvement, especially in relation to VDI and deployment processes.
Initial Focus:
- VDI support and PC staging and deployment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in IT support roles, particularly with desktop support, VDI, and deployments.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows 10, VDI platforms (e.g., Citrix, VMware), and experience working in Microsoft O365 and Azure Admin portals.
- Extensive PowerShell scripting experience.
- Basic networking knowledge, with familiarity in VPN and virtual desktop environments.
