To direct the financial affairs of the Credit Union; to establish major economic and financial objectives and policies of the credit union. Oversees data processing and accounting departments; directs, and evaluates employee performance within the departments.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an SVP, Chief Financial Officer located in Birmingham, AL. The SVP, Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for the overall financial management of the credit union, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, investment management, asset-liability management, and risk management. The SVP, Chief Financial Officer will also oversee financial reporting, compliance, and regulatory affairs, and will work closely with the CEO and the Board of Directors to formulate and implement financial strategies and policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; Master's degree a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in a financial institution or credit union
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, investment management, asset-liability management, and risk management
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory compliance and financial reporting requirements for credit unions and other financial institutions
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and work effectively in cross-functional and collaborative teams
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic planning is a plus
- Experience with credit union operations and governance is a plus
