Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Service Technician responsible for building, installing, and servicing machines. You will perform installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance tasks on-site.


Responsibilities:


Building Machines:

  • Use own tools to assemble, install motors, wire machines, and understand electrical schematics.

Field Work:

  • Install and train customers on equipment.
  • Perform on-site repairs, including changing motors, bearings, and belts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machines using wiring techniques; be prepared to spend weeks in the field with a team as needed.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits.
  • Manage on-site installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Follow all company field procedures and protocols.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.


Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in using a multimeter to troubleshoot circuits.
  • Mechanical skills in assembling parts and machinery.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical components.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with reading and loading PLC programs and HMI panels.
  • Mechanical background with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Strong background in the automotive industry (4 years).
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous maintenance or mechanical experience in the food, packaging, or machinery industries.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Electrical or controls certifications are a plus.


Additional Plusses:

  • Experience with food, packaging, automotive, or other machinery.
  • Previous field service experience.
