Location: Roanoke, VA - Must be willing to relocate to Roanoke, VA, full relocation package and competitive salary offered.


The Technical Project Manager, working within the Project Administration office, will lead and oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of technical projects. This role focuses on supporting project administrators in resolving technical issues by collaborating directly with plant operations and technical functions. The Technical Project Manager must possess strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the Project Administration office's objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and manage technical resources and teams to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with project administrators to identify and resolve technical issues, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate directly with plant operations and technical functions to address project-related technical challenges.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to track progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
  • Conduct cost analysis and estimate expected costs for technical projects.
  • Prepare and implement budgets based on cost estimates.
  • Ensure projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and clients.
  • Promote and advocate for new technical projects, programs, and systems within the organization.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of experience in technical project management or a similar role is required.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.
