About the Role

ECS Limited is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Senior Project Engineer to manage key client projects for our Special Projects Group based out of our Roanoke office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and plans, aligning with company goals and client expectations.
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and engineering calculations, providing technical expertise and guidance to junior staff.
  • Supervise field exploration programs and interpret geotechnical data from boring layouts, utility clearances, and laboratory tests, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Perform technical review of engineering designs, drawings, plans, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
  • Assist with business development efforts through community involvement and client engagement, promoting ECS Limited's services and expertise.
  • Promote company values, positive culture, and high employee engagement, contributing to a productive and motivated work environment.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong technical aptitude and knowledge of geotechnical principles.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to lead and develop engineering teams.
  • Experience with industry standards and safety regulations, with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
  • Business development experience, with a proven track record of success in community involvement and client engagement.
  • Required Education & Certifications: BS in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar, with a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Preferred Education & Certifications: MS in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar.
