Position Overview:

The NF Recovery Maintenance Supervisor (NFRMS) reports to the NF Recovery Manager (NFRM) and manages daily operations related to maintenance, preventative maintenance, and NF Recovery projects. Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance personnel, coordinating daily tasks, and supporting various managerial roles to optimize plant operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Environmental Health & Safety (H&S):

  • Enforce safety practices and ensure compliance with corporate safety policies, OSHA, and other regulations.
  • Develop Health & Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with the Health & Safety Manager/Specialist.
  • Oversee safety and operational training for maintenance staff and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings and contribute to accident reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage the regulatory environment affecting the department.


Equipment & Maintenance:

  • Manage daily and preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring proper equipment operation and upkeep.
  • Coordinate major maintenance projects, including manpower, equipment, and timelines.
  • Report maintenance issues and plans directly to the NFRM.
  • Review and address issues noted in Daily Equipment Inspection Sheets (DEIs).


Inventory & Quality Control:

  • Procure necessary parts for the NF Recovery Plant and conduct weekly inventory checks.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and monitor production reports to enhance efficiency and profitability.


Administrative Management:

  • Evaluate the performance of direct reports and conduct interviews for new hires.
  • Audit employee timecards weekly and have proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Hold weekly meetings with the NFRM to discuss maintenance and personnel issues.
  • Distribute daily maintenance reports to the NFRM.


Internal Control Responsibilities:

  • Support and adhere to the Company’s Internal Control processes.
  • Report operational problems, policy violations, or illegal activities as needed.


Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Supervise a team of employees across up to three shifts.


Interpersonal Contacts:

  • Coordinate with internal teams, including the General Manager, Shredder Manager, Terminal Manager, and others.
  • Engage with external suppliers and equipment manufacturers.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 2-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, industrial, mining, or construction, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Previous experience managing a work crew and a background in maintenance required.
  • Exposure to a unionized environment is a plus.
  • Intensive in-house training provided.
  • Spanish-speaking skills are advantageous but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license is necessary.
