Position Overview:

The NF Recovery Maintenance Operations Supervisor (NFMOS) is accountable to the NF Recovery Manager (NFRM) and is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, preventative maintenance, and NF Recovery initiatives. This role includes managing maintenance personnel, coordinating daily responsibilities, and assisting various managerial functions to enhance plant efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Implement safety protocols and ensure adherence to corporate safety standards, OSHA regulations, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager/Specialist to develop Health & Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Facilitate safety and operational training for maintenance teams and maintain all necessary documentation.
  • Engage in Safety Committee meetings and contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing accidents.
  • Monitor and manage the regulatory landscape impacting the department.

Maintenance & Equipment Management:

  • Oversee daily and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment functionality and maintenance.
  • Coordinate significant maintenance projects, including workforce allocation, equipment, and timelines.
  • Communicate maintenance concerns and strategies directly to the NFRM.
  • Review and address issues highlighted in Daily Equipment Inspection Sheets (DEIs).

Inventory Management & Quality Assurance:

  • Acquire necessary components for the NF Recovery Plant and perform weekly inventory assessments.
  • Foster professional relationships with suppliers and analyze production reports to improve efficiency and profitability.

Administrative Oversight:

  • Assess the performance of direct reports and conduct interviews for prospective hires.
  • Review employee timecards weekly and demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the NFRM to address maintenance and personnel matters.
  • Distribute daily maintenance reports to the NFRM.

Internal Control Duties:

  • Support and comply with the Company's Internal Control processes.
  • Report operational challenges, policy breaches, or illegal activities as necessary.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Lead a team of employees across multiple shifts.

Interpersonal Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including the General Manager, Shredder Manager, Terminal Manager, and others.
  • Interact with external suppliers and equipment manufacturers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 2-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, industrial, mining, or construction, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Prior experience managing a work crew and a background in maintenance is essential.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive in-house training will be provided.
  • Spanish language skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

This position involves direct supervision and collaboration across various departments to ensure efficient and safe plant operations.
