Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Project Manager with expertise in managing projects centered around Business Intelligence (BI) tools and SQL Server technologies.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management, project delivery, and the BI ecosystem.
  • You will work cross-functionally with stakeholders, business analysts, data engineers, and development teams to drive the successful implementation of data-driven projects that leverage BI tools and SQL Server for enterprise-wide analytics solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead end-to-end project management for data-related initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor multiple BI and data projects.
  • Manage project timelines, risks, and resources.
  • Ensure alignment between business requirements and technical implementation.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate project status.
  • Act as the main point of contact between technical teams (data engineers, developers) and business units.
  • Data Infrastructure & BI Stack:
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data warehouses, data marts, and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure optimal use of Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik, with a specific focus on Microsoft SQL Server integration.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Provide guidance on BI and data visualization best practices.
  • Understand the architecture and optimization of SQL Server environments, including query optimization and data pipeline management.
  • Work closely with data engineers to ensure efficient ETL processes and data modeling for reporting needs.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with business analysts and data scientists to deliver data insights through dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
  • Lead agile project teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Ensure proper documentation of data models, architecture, processes, and project plans.
  • Generate status reports and project updates for executive leadership.


Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Experience with data warehouse design, ETL processes, and data modeling.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies such as Azure Data Services, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficient in SQL query optimization, performance tuning, and database management.
  • 5+ years of experience in data project management, focusing on BI and SQL Server technologies.
  • Proven track record of delivering data projects with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) and SQL Server environments.

Strong experience in agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
