We are seeking a highly motivated Network Security Specialist to join our team and play a key role in safeguarding our organization's IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for utilizing your expertise in SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), security operations, and scripting to proactively identify, analyze, and respond to security incidents.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain SIEM solutions to collect, analyze, and correlate security events from network devices, applications, and systems.
  • Develop and refine SIEM rules to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Investigate security incidents, diagnose root causes, and take appropriate action to contain and remediate threats.
  • Automate security tasks through scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
  • Integrate current systems and tools with existing SIEM tools and expanded security tools.
  • Participate in security assessments and penetration testing activities.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and trends, recommending and implementing new security solutions as needed.
  • Document security procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams and other departments to ensure overall security posture.
  • Aid in creation of customized dashboards using Power BI.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in a security operations role.
  • Strong understanding of SIEM solutions and experience with a leading SIEM platform (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight, RSA Security Analytics).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages commonly used in security automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Working knowledge of network security concepts, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security protocols.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security+ or equivalent industry certification.
  • Experience with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) tools.
  • Experience with cloud security concepts and technologies.
  • Power Platform
