Startup Island Taiwan (SIT) serves as a vital bridge between Taiwan's emerging startup and existing tech ecosystems and Silicon Valley’s innovation landscape, facilitating connections and accelerating the growth of Taiwanese companies into the Silicon Valley ecosystem and beyond.


Job Description:

The Community / Program Manager will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day operations, fostering community engagement, and supporting initiatives to connect Taiwanese startups with the innovation ecosystem. This role will also contribute to efforts in attracting inbound corporate partnerships and venture capital interest to Taiwan.


Key Responsibilities:


Operational Leadership:

  • Lead the setup and ongoing operations of the Silicon Valley Hub, ensuring efficient operations and a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators.
  • Planning and organizing the opening ceremony.
  • Planning and organizing large forums.


Community Engagement:

  • Cultivate relationships within the Silicon Valley ecosystem to enhance collaboration and support for Taiwanese startups.
  • Organize and execute community events, workshops, and networking opportunities to foster a vibrant hub environment.


Startup Support:

  • Provide hands-on support to Taiwanese startup teams establishing a presence in Silicon Valley, including facilitating access to resources, networking opportunities, and logistical assistance.


Investor and Partner Relations:

  • Assist in attracting interest from corporate partners and venture capital investors by organizing events and initiatives that showcase opportunities in Taiwan.


Project Management:

  • Collaborate with the Silicon Valley Managing Director and SIT leadership on strategic initiatives and projects, contributing to the growth and visibility of the hub.


Digital and Communication Strategy:

  • Manage the Silicon Valley Hub’s online presence, including website updates and social media content, to promote activities and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Planning and achieving media exposure KPIs.


Reporting and Collaboration:

  • Provide regular updates and reports on progress to internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in roles related to Community Management, Incubator/Accelerator programs, startup support, or similar.
  • Familiarity with venture capital processes, startup operations, or community-building initiatives is advantageous.
  • Mandarin Chinese proficiency preferred for effective communication with Taiwanese startups and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Full-time availability and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic startup environment in Silicon Valley.

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Compensation for this role is estimated to be at $140,000 to $155,000 base salary plus benefits and bonus potential.
