Duration: 6 month contract, with extensions

PR: $65-75/hr

Musts:

An industrial electrician or technical school graduate with electrical and control system experience

5 + years of PLC, HMI & VFD Programming experience

4+ years of Rockwell or Schnieder automation products

Proven computer and networking skills

Knowledge and understanding of electrical standards.

Knowledge of power distribution systems in a manufacturing environment

Superior technical skills (mechanical/electrical)

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

Highly motivated self-starter

Day-to-Day:

As a Control Systems Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of automated systems at the plant. Your day-to-day tasks will include troubleshooting and repairing control systems, minimizing downtime, collaborating with engineering teams to improve system layouts, and conducting routine preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment.

  • Install, Maintain, Repair, and Troubleshoot Plant Control Systems and Equipment
  • Support the Engineering Group: Assist with automation system troubleshooting and resolution activities in collaboration with other functions.
  • Evaluate Existing Plant Systems: Make recommendations to enhance system reliability.
  • Provide Assistance: Support production, contractors, and maintenance personnel with maintenance repairs, reliability initiatives, and system calibrations.
  • Troubleshoot Plant Process Control Systems
  • Vendor Selection: Locate and choose potential vendors, obtain quotes for equipment and services.
  • Create and Manage Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs: Minimize unscheduled downtime.
  • Train Machine Operators: Familiarize them with plant process control systems.
  • Comply with Safety, Environmental, and Quality Requirements: Follow external and internal regulations.
  • Read and Interpret Schematics and Technical Reports: Understand electrical equipment specifications.
  • Supervise Equipment Manufacturing, Installation, Commissioning, and Start-Up as Needed
  • Assist in Designing Control Systems: Cover user interface, tag schemes, automation, alarm logic, logging, and data collection, including PLC and HMI programming.
